Ideally we are looking to appoint full time staff, however, part time will also be considered.
Job Opportunity
As Lead Care & Support Worker you will:
- Supervise the care team
- Support with the administration of medication to residents, and support the nursing team in managing medications
- Maintain and complete clear and comprehensive records
- Play a vital part in providing the people we support with care, and be able to profoundly improve their quality of life
- Assist people who are unable to live independently by offering them the practical help they need, as well as emotional support
- Be responsible for the guidance, support and basic training of new Care & Support Workers
- Manage the team's work to ensure that all staff achieve their own objectives and duties

Strode Park House is a residential home registered for 55 beds for adults with physical disabilities and complex needs in Herne, Kent. We offer a relaxed homely environment for 40 permanent residents and up to 15 guests who come on a short-term basis for neuro-rehabilitation and respite care. We’ve been delivering care since 1946 and this residential home is where it all started.
The team at Strode Park House ensures our residents live in a safe and secure environment; each person’s individual wellbeing, dignity and choice is vitally important within the community of residents who live at or come for a short break. Shift times at Strode Park House are:
- Early - 7.00am - 1.30pm
- Lates - 1.30pm - 8.00pm
- Nights - 8.00pm - 7.00am
Strode Park House provides care on a 24 hour basis, 7 days a week including weekends and bank holidays. This means we value reliable and flexible staff. Essential Skills
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or a willingness to work towards this within 12 months of being in post
- Direct or indirect experience of disability or supporting those with disabilities
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility and ability to meet the working pattern demanded by this role
- Experience with managing and administering medications, or willingness to learn this skill
The following would be an advantage:
- Experience of working in a supervisory role
- Previous experience of working in care
