Volunteer of the Month – December
Volunteer of the Month November 2024...Trish.
As we do every month, we have lots of amazing people, businesses, and organisations to thank and we want to share the wonderful ways in which they have and are continuing to support the charity and our work.
Without all of these supporters we would not be able to support our residents and clients the way we do.
To begin, we’d like to say thank you to:
• The Edward Vinson 1957 Charity Settlement who have very generously donated a sizeable contribution to our home in Faversham, Lady Dane Farmhouse, to help with our upgrade and renovation to the fire doors at the home. We are beyond grateful to be able to complete this work.
• Next up is The Screwfix Foundation who kindly donated and have allowed us to fulfil some important fire safety upgrade work at the Coach House – one of our homes based in Herne, Kent.
• A huge thank you to Herne Bay Football Club for their continued support towards our foundation and for allowing us to plan some fundraising activities on their grounds and playing fields on the last game of the season and over the coming two seasons.
• Another thanks you for this month goes to Crufts who gifted us two free tickets to their fantastic dog show. One of our residents who is a dog enthusiast attended the show this month and had a wonderful time stating it was ‘doggy heaven’ so thank you Crufts!
• A massive thank you this month goes out to the G4S Patient Transport team who came to do some corporate volunteering this month and they got stuck into lots of outside garden work at Strode Park House in Herne. Thank you to all at G4S!
• We would like to thank our local Jewson’s branch in Canterbury, Kent who very kindly donated more than £300 worth of raffle prizes for all of our fundraising events across the year, we appreciate everything you have done.
• Thank you to our local supermarkets and groups for donations towards our Easter Egg Hunt which was held on Saturday 23 March. Tesco in Whitstable donated 60 eggs, Morrisons in Herne Bay for donating five free from eggs, KCS Homes Limited for donating 6 Easter hampers for all our homes across Kent, Injection Development for donating 10 eggs to our home in Canterbury, and finally a big thanks to East Kent Widow Sons Bikers who donated 100 Easter eggs to our hunt.
• We are truly grateful for Lesley’s Friday Morning Knitting Group who have kindly knitted Easter hats to sit on top of our crème eggs to help us fundraise at our Easter Egg Hunt this year.
• A massive thanks to a few local businesses who have donated vouchers or prizes for our staff wellbeing giveaway, these thanks go to Waterman & Webb, Active Life and Calming Hands.
• Thank you to Herne Bay Hockey Club for holding a hockey game in honour of the Strode Park Foundation, we appreciate you and your team.
• And finally, this month we would like to say a massive thank you to Harry Booker Photography for capturing such beautiful pictures of our residents for our upcoming exhibition in The Beaney in Canterbury! We can’t wait to share more details with you soon.
THANK YOU, to everyone for all they have done this month in supporting Strode. We could not do provide the care we do without all of your help and support. THANK YOU!
