A system which logs residents’ care is being introduced in Strode Park Foundation’s Redwalls home.
The system, which is already in place in three of its other homes, is being introduced at the Stodmarsh Road home to ensure a better quality of care for its service users.
Redwalls, which is home to six residents, will receive 18 new handsets for the 21 carers it employs.
The new approach will be able to document and log things like activities, care received, monitoring food and drink intake and an accurate and real time record of all other aspects of fantastic care and support provided to the residents.
The benefits to the staff at the Canterbury home are that the new system is easy to use, it is hoped it will reduce stress and facilitates teamwork and, above all else it will allow more time to give the best care possible.
Director of Care (Social and Home Care), Becky Richards, said: “This is a really important step in the care offered at Redwalls and one which we’re really proud of across the whole Foundation. My team there will be able to access detailed information wherever they are and whenever they need it. This is another step in ensuring our teams are providing the best quality of care to our residents.”
The system will be going live by mid-June.
