Strode’s Christmas Appeal 2020

We have launched our Christmas Appeal 2020 and we need your help!

Our residents over the last year have had limited time with family, friends, and the outside world. Even though it has been necessary for their safety it has been hard for everyone involved. So, we are asking you to help support us in making their Christmas that little bit easier and happier even with these restrictions in place.

Our residents have been shielding due to the global pandemic since March. Unlike most people when restrictions started easing in the Summer, they did not for those in care homes and now a second national lockdown has hit the residents who face a much harder winter than we had hoped.

Our residents have had a tough year and we were hopeful that we could ease restrictions within the home this winter, however this second lockdown has felt like a few steps back and so we want to raise our residents’ spirits as much as possible by going above and beyond with their Christmas celebrations. Even lockdown cannot cancel Christmas at Strode.

There are four ways that you can support the charity this Christmas

1. An Amazon Wishlist full of things the residents would like and have asked for to make their Christmas amazing. The residents and Home Managers were asked what items would make the festive period beyond wonderful and they were compiled into a wish list to make this happen. 2. There is also the traditional option of donating online at strodepark.org.uk
3. Text STRODECHRISTMAS to 70085 to donate £10 (plus one standard rate message) the charity is hoping to reach a target of £4,000 to make the Christmas as spectacular as possible.
4. Finally, you can help raise some much-needed Christmas funds by joining in with our Christmas Hat Day on Friday 11 December. All you need to do is wear your silliest Christmas Hat and donate £1 for doing so. You can even get your school or work colleagues to get involved as well. Every £1 adds up! To donate you can text STRODEHAT to 70450 (Texts cost £1 plus one standard rate message), donate on our website, donate through school collections, or contact us to collect.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the pandemic and continues to, this has been an extremely tough year for everyone and it is amazing to see everyone is pulling together to help their local community in any way they can.
