Volunteer of the Month – July

This month’s volunteer is the fantastic Bernie Titterrell! Bernie has truly aided the Strode Park Foundation in more ways than one.

Bernie started volunteering for the foundation in 2019, 5 years ago. Since Bernie started volunteering, he was shown true dedication, hard work, initiative and time into his volunteer work for the foundation.

Bernie’s role as a volunteer is ‘Events Volunteer’. Bernie’s role is very varied, and he is always willing to get stuck in. Bernie is our head of parking at every event as well as this he helps with the running of our bar and much more.

Bernie said “I proudly volunteer for Strode because my connection to the foundation is very significant. My wife is a resident, and this allows me to give back and help raise as much money as possible for the foundation.”

Following from this we asked Bernie what brings him back each and every week. Bernie said, “Seeing the residents faces and entertaining them, I also like to help the foundation facilitate as many events as possible”.

Bernie has become such a vital part of our volunteer team, and we could not operate our events without his help. Bernie is a Strode superstar.

Lastly, we asked Bernie what advice he would give to somebody wanting to start volunteering. “There are various roles, something for everyone and the more volunteers we have, the more events we can put on, the more money that can be raised”

Thank you, Bernie, for all your continued hard work, we couldn’t provide the wonderful care that we do, without your support.
